There are literally hundreds of incredible beaches to explore within a close drive of Villa des Parfums. Spending an afternoon at the beach is one of our favorite ways to relax, and amazingly the climate here allows for beach activities most of the year – we swim in the sea from April until October!
Antibes is one of our favorite destinations where there’s many beautiful beaches to suit all tastes and moods. The Cap d’Antibes is absolutely stunning and worth exploring.
If you like a sandy beach La Plage de Salis is perfect, with stretches of gorgeous clean white sand and spectacular views of Antibes old town and the bay. It’s a great family beach with lots of space for kids to play and it’s also safe as the sea remains shallow for quite a distance. It’s also a perfect swimming beach as it’s a large bay. There’s several cafes right there on the beach where you can buy soft drinks, beers, ice-creams and snacks, and there’s also plenty of parking close-by. The car park is free until July.
In the peak of the summer (July 14th – August 15th) you might prefer to avoid the busier beaches that are closer to town as they get pretty jam-packed. If you’re looking for some adventure and a little peace and quiet, then we suggest you explore the many beautiful rocky beaches and little ports on the far-side of the Cap d’Antibes. L’Abri de l’Olivette is stunning and the ‘Plage du Graillon’ which is hidden at the bottom of the steps, across the road from the Parking du Graillon, beside the Diving School, is one of our favorite spots and tends to be quiet, even in the height of summer. Don’t forget to pay for parking (3 Euros for the day) during July & August, as the traffic wardens come frequently and the fines are heavy!
If luxury and tranquility is what you’re looking for, then we highly recommend the ‘Plage des Pecheurs’ at the Cap d’Antibes Beach Hotel near the Port de Galice. It’s very refined (5-star hotel) yet very relaxed and is very family friendly. You can rent sun loungers for the day and enjoy cocktails or lunch while sunbathing!
The food is delicious and is served all day. There are beach toys for the kids, nice showers, bathrooms and beach towels provided. The service is fabulous and friendly and the Valet Parking is free! If you want a hassle-free beach day and you’re not on a budget, head directly for the Cap d’Antibes Beach Hotel, you won’t regret it. It’s also lovely in the evenings watching the sun go down, and sometimes there’s live music, so you can end your perfect day at the beach with a romantic dinner…..
